In line with the 1-Stop Shop for Financial Services, we would like to make a difference in the lives of the people we meet by giving them a sneek preview of financial decisions that they may be faced with. With this in mind, the game - Financial Maze was developed and has been successfully played in both Singapore and Malaysia.
As we go through different stages of life, we are faced with different financial situations, competing priorities and unexpected events. We find ourselves at junctions where we have to make decisions. A wrong decision can land us in unfavourable situations. This is liken to a maze and because the decisions that are made will have an impact on our financial well-being, we call a "Financial Maze".
The Financial Maze Workshop helps participants experience this in the game so that when faced with situations in real life, they would already have a dry run and may make it easier to choose between alternative solutions.
The Objectives of the Workshop are to let Participants:
- To learn without having to go through painful real-life experience.- To equip participants with the relevant knowledge and skills of investment strategies which are imparted to them along the way.- To learn about cashflow management and be more aware of their personal spending patterns.
METHODOLOGY
As adults we acquire skills through experiential learning. Using props, we let participants transact in the market place through some scenarios, some adapted from life situations, allowing them to have a feel of how it is like when faced with actual situations. After each scenario at the market place, they will be provided with some possible strategies to be applied to the situations accordingly.
Through this, we believe that the participants would acquire wealth accumulation strategies in a light-hearted yet meaningful way, making financial planning no longer a mundane task, but fun and exciting.
